Introducing the value for Term 1, 2022

Orlando Tuhega-Vaitupu, Oscar Cameron and Max O'Connor —

In true Kingsman style, our Head Boy and Deputies lead the Year 12 Assembly.

Orlando Tuhega-Vaitupu, Oscar Cameron and Max O’Connor shared their views about the value introduced this term, across the school.

King’s prides itself on building men for life and the men they want to build should understand the importance of the values that are taught here.

One of the values we are presenting to you is fairness and how that can and should be shown as a part of your own personality.

What does it mean to be fair?

  • Fairness when meeting new people - Orlando
    • Fairness is defined as “The quality of making judgments that are free from discrimination,” and everyone should strive to personify this definition by showing respect when meeting someone new for the first time, giving them a fair chance.

  • Fairness in sport - Oscar
    • Fairness can also be shown during sport. More commonly known as sportsmanship, being fair on and off the pitch holds high value. A large majority of King's students are involved in a sport for our school, whether it be at a social level, or playing for a 1st team, it is important that we play with pride and show sportsmanship towards our teammates and opponents. By doing this, we will be able to maintain and further expand the high sporting reputation that we have developed here at King’s.
  • Fairness summary - Max
    • When you apply these things to your everyday life, we will create a school community where everyone is treated fairly, can get along easily, and will feel safe. In a community where people are being treated fairly, everyone works together, solves problems easily, has fun, cares for one another, feels safe and gets along. It should be important to a person to act with fairness, if you do this, people will respect and trust you.
