Congratulations to the following surfers who featured heavily in the Otago High Schools’ Weekly Surf Ladders:

Karne Gabbott placed 3rd overall for the season. He used the weekly ladders to hone his competition heat skills, pitted constantly against two other nationally recognised surfers from Otago Boys' High School, Jake and Alexis Owen. Karne actually beat the Owen boys on certain weeks but was pipped at the post on the final day’s competition by the two brothers.

Flynn Dewey was also a committed ladders surfer and a frequent finalist.

Congratulations also to Lewis Murphy and Josh Fairbairn who, along with Karne and Flynn, made the Otago High Schools Scholastics Surfing team which will compete in October at New Plymouth in the National Schools Competition.
