Campamento Espanol 2021- Mayo

Nadia Ruiz —

Last month, a group of Spanish teachers from around Southland ran an immersion Spanish Camp in the Catlins for all students of Spanish.

One hundred and twenty-five students enjoyed Spanish food, salsa lessons, the option to participate in “Tomatina” and playing games all in Spanish. We didn’t mean for the camp to be only fun, so we conducted an assessment task for the curriculum strand ‘Interactions’, for all Senior Levels.

I’d like to highlight that while our students were at camp, they applied the King’s values to all activities showing respect and considering the opinions of the other participants, while always striving for excellence.

Thank you to all the parents and staff involved to make this a success. We hope to run another camp next year.
