Subject Endorsement Awards
This week we recognised a new set of young men for their excellence in learning.
We already celebrate those who have achieved an Excellence Certificate Endorsement (50+ Excellence credits), with our Academic Blues awards. There is another group of Kingsmen who also deserve recognition; those who have achieved Excellence Subject Endorsements.
In 2022, 70 King’s students across NCEA Levels 1 and 2 attained at least one Excellence Subject Endorsement. For most subjects, the criteria for an Excellence Subject Endorsement is 14 or more credits at Excellence, with at least one external standard contributing to those credits. To attain an Excellence Subject Endorsement is, therefore, a significant achievement, and as such it is important that we formally recognise the hard work put in by each student and also their teachers.
These students should feel a great sense of pride in achieving mastery over a subject or subjects, as should their teachers for their role in fostering each student's learning and growth.
Under our new award system:
Excellence in 1 subject is a Bronze
Excellence in 2 subjects is a Silver
Excellence in 3 or more is a Gold
