News from the Library

Debbie Vercoe —

The Library hosted the National Poetry Day celebration, and the International Student 'Meet and Greet' this week.

National Poetry Day was Tuesday 21st March and students were invited to present a poem in the Library at interval to celebrate. Well done to all students who participated and congratulations to Jamie Blair Year 9 and Quinn Bailey Year 11, who were the winners of the Roses chocolates, sponsored by Mr Eade and the English Department.

The English Department are running a Poetry Writing contest. The winners will be announced next week.

At lunchtime we hosted the International Students with a meet and greet, led by our Head Boy, Massimo Pezzuto and many of the prefects.

It was a great chance to meet our International students and to welcome them all to King’s High School in a friendly and informal manner in the Library conversation pit.

We have had a busy time in the Library with many classes visiting for reading and research. As the weather gets cooler, the Library continues to be a popular place for students to read, play chess, do homework, catch up with friends and enjoy the busy atmosphere.
