Are you eager to follow your passion for Science?

Vicki Jopson —

Year 12 or 13 students with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply to attend the "NanoCamp 2021".

Hosted by the MacDiarmid Institute, NanoCamp is a full week of residential lab experience with top scientists, completing hands-on investigations into a range of topics including electron microscopy, laser physics and nano-electronics.

They are looking for current Year 12 or 13 students with a strong academic background who are planning to continue with Science.  The camp is free.

There are two different camps in 2021 which are amazing. Both are free if students are accepted so a strong application is necessary.

Applications for NanoCamp 2022 are now open.

  • Due to the recent change in Covid Alert Levels, the deadline for applications has now been extended to 10 September 2021.

If students need any help with either one of these applications please contact Mrs Jopson on jp@kingshigh.school.nz

Please contact macdiarmidnano-discoverycamp@vuw.ac.nz with any questions or follow the link: https://www.macdiarmid.ac.nz/news-and-events/events/nanocamp-2022/

The free camp encourages Māori and Pacific students to consider careers in Science.

The MacDiarmid Institute’s DiscoveryCamp is continuing to help young Māori and Pacific Island students to realise their potential in Science, giving them an opportunity to experience all kinds of scientific discovery in a culturally safe space.
