The Salter Trophy is awarded to the top sportsman at King's High School

Due to indoor covid restrictions the 2021 King’s Sports Awards comprised of a smaller contingent of King’s athletes but very talented ones at that.

The special guest was the legendary New Zealand track and field coach Mr. Brent Ward who shared with the audience his experience of what is required to coach at the highest level.

The evening began with the awarding of cups and trophies to athletes from all King’s 1st teams as well as special prize winners.

The night was capped of superbly when the Salter Trophy winner for 2021 was announced as Steve Salelea.

Team of the year went to the 1st XI Touch Rugby Team

King’s Lions' 1st XI Touch team won the Team of the Year Award for their superb second place finish at the National Tournament.
