There's no stopping Max

Kymberley Beal & Jo Harford —

Max Beal has appeared in King's Week on several occasions already this year, where his success in Musical Theatre and the Shakespeare Sheilah Winn Festival were highlighted.

Continuing on from this success, last weekend Max won the senior section of the Newzats Contemporary Singing Competition. He sang a song from Matilda the Musical "Smell of Rebellion" and Fiddler on the Roof's "If I were a Rich Man."

The competition was sponsored by the late Les Cleveland and 1st prize was $500.

Then on Wednesday night, Max received a call from the judges at the Wellington Shakespeare Festival where the King's group performed over Queen's Birthday weekend. He was informed that he has been selected to attend the National Shakespeare Festival in Wellington in the October school holidays.

An extremely successful year so far for Max and, with an upcoming professional season at the Fortune Theatre in "Into The Woods" next term, we are sure there will be more to come.
