Narayan Shastri has been elected by his peers as the Chairperson for Dunedin Youth council. This group elects a group of young people every year aged between 13 and 18 who are passionate about working on initiatives to help the community in Dunedin.

Narayan has been part of the DYC since last year and this year he was encouraged by his mentor(s) at the council to put his name forward for office bearer positions.
This is an impressive role for Narayan who, despite his hectic academic and sporting schedule, has taken on this extra responsibility to be able to give back to the community from a youth perspective.
We look forward to hearing about the projects planned by DYC this year.
