The 2020 Otago Wildlife Photography Competition Awards and Opening Ceremony was held last week at the Otago Museum. Jack Aubin (Year 9) had four out of his five photographic entries and both of his Wildlife in Action videos selected for the exhibition.

There were 1,866 entries in the Otago Wildlife Photography Competition this year and for the fourth year in a row, Jack picked up awards in the 14 and under age category.

His macro image of a wasp on a chopping block was awarded overall "Category Winner" in the Animal section. In the same section, he received a "Highly Commended" for his glaring Tui Portrait taken at Orokonui Ecosanctuary. In the Plant category he was awarded "Highly Commended" for his macro image of morning dew on a Heuchera plant. His image of a Kea taken on the Routeburn Track was also selected for display.

The free exhibition is on at the Otago Museum until 1st October 2020.
