Year 11 students meet employers at Pathways SpeedMeet
Earlier this week a group of Year 11 students headed to the Dunedin Town Hall to attend the Pathways SpeedMeet put on by My Next Move. This event was much like Speed Dating, but with local businesses! Students had the opportunity to speak with six local employees and to ask questions about their pathway, job or the local industry they were involved in.
There were Occupational Therapists, Investment Advisors, the Defence Force, Community Law Otago, a Mortgage Broker, Social Workers, representatives from Sport Otago, Marketing Managers, Science Engagement Officers as well as people from various trades.
It was a great way to expose students to some different pathways that exist after school, as well as some of the local employers that are in our region.
