Instrumental Music Scholarship for Emmanuel Keane

Year 13 student Emmanuel Keane took out first place in the 2022 Instrumental Scholarship Competition winning a $1,000 Scholarship towards music tuition costs.

Emmanuel prepared and presented the following two pieces on piano:

  1. Polka in F by Smetana
  2. Winsboro Cotton Mill Blues by Frederic Rzewski. 

This Scholarship win follows Emmanuel’s recent gaining of the demanding Trinity Fellowship Performance Diploma Examination. Congratulations, well done, Emmanuel.

Held in Marama Hall, at the University of Otago, the 2022 Instrumental Scholarship Competition is open to solo performers who are secondary school students from the Otago/Southland region, and who are students of teachers who are members of the Otago Branch of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers NZ.
