The King’s High School 1st XV had a successful weekend defeating the John McGlashan 1st XV which means they now play Southland Boys' High School (SBHS) in this weekend's Highlanders Competition Championship Final. The two previous encounters with SBHS, this year, have been close with SBHS winning both. The score in the annual Interschool fixture in Invercargill was 17-13, and then recently, at King’s the score was 18-15.

Also, over the weekend, Otago took on Southland in Invercargill in the opening game of the NPC for 2024. King’s is proud to have several former students and staff members involved.
