Two King’s students were recognised at the Mana Pounamu Awards last Friday evening.

The Awards Ceremony celebrates the success of Māori students across Otago. 

Taumana Pene was awarded in the Tuakana (Senior) Section, recognising his leadership at King’s High School in the role of Māori Leader, his success at the Manu Kōrero Speech Competition, and his work in tutoring primary school students in Kapa Haka. 

Benjamin Paku was awarded in the Teina (Junior) Section, in recognition of his performance in the First XV and Otago Under 16 Rugby teams, as well as his stellar academic record in his first three years at King’s.
