Last Thursday Year 11 Geographers visited the Oceania Gold Mine in Macraes, Central Otago.

The group was looking at the process of gold mining and the environmental sustainability of the mine and mine rehabilitation once mining is finished.

The two photos, above and below show our Geographers viewing the processing plant from a distance and exploring the mines Trout Hatchery, which provides Trout for many Otago Rivers.
