King's boys continue to shine

Andrew McKenzie —

Zac Bell and Daniel Honey have been selected for the National Shakespeare Schools Production.

The Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand (SGCNZ) has selected the top 47 students from across New Zealand for its National Secondary Schools Production (NSSP) in the Term 3 break, which is an 8-day acting intensive run by industry professionals, culminating in a public performance.

This year's NSSP will be held in Wellington. Students can be selected from either the Regional Festival in Term 1 or the National Festival in Wellington in Term 2, with selection based on the quality of their performances, their understanding of Shakespeare's language, and their general character and work ethic over the festivals.

From the NSSP, there is a further opportunity to be chosen for the Young Shakespeare Company, which tours to the Globe Theatre in London, England, in 2022.

Both boys were very humble in their response but very excited to take part. To be chosen to represent New Zealand's most talented student performers, directors, designers and composers at the NSSP is certainly a great honour.

 Congratulations Zac and Daniel!
