Celebrating NCEA Academic Achievements

Cameron McPhail —

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all our young men in NCEA and look forward to following their progress and successes this year and beyond.

During March we celebrated all the NCEA successes of 2022. We started with our Year 11 and Year 12 students from 2022, who received an Excellence endorsement, then continued with Scholarship results, NCEA Level 2, NCEA Level 1 and finally our Cambridge results. Level 3 high achievers, who have left school, received a personal letter from the Rector in congratulations.

Excellence Endorsement:

An Excellence endorsement required a student to achieve 46 Excellence credits across their Academic Programme, in 2022 we had the following results:

19 Year 13 students received an Excellence endorsement (17.9% of the cohort), with a further 32 receiving a Merit endorsement (27.4 % of the cohort)

25 Year 12 students received an Excellence endorsement (21% of the cohort), with a further 26 receiving a Merit endorsement (22% of the cohort)

41 Year 11 students received an Excellence endorsement (25% of the cohort), with a further 50 receiving a Merit endorsement (30% of the cohort).

Scholarship Results (for more see the previous article: "A Celebration of Excellence"):

  • 41 Scholarships, two of them Outstanding
  • Top performing boy's school in the South Island
  • Fourth overall in the South Island of all Secondary Schools.

Cambridge IGCSE Results:
