Important Bus Information

Jo Harford —

Dear students and parents of students catching the bus....

We’ve been working with schools and operators to meet demand for school buses, (5D, 6E, 6D, 40C, 8, 1, 44, 55, 77). The good news is that we have some dedicated school services to take the pressure off the network for other passengers, and get our kids back to school. But there’s still more to be done.

Keep up to date on Facebook, or check out the school information page here https://www.orc.govt.nz/public-transport/school-services-during-covid-19

The below services will run from Monday 18th May:
5D: 8:35am Pine Hill to Logan Park High School
6E: 3:35pm Logan Park High School to Opoho and Pine Hill
6D: 3:05pm Dunedin North Intermediate to Pine Hill
40C: 3:15pm Bathgate Park School, Queen's High School and King's High School to Lookout Point

Regular services that will have an additional dedicated school run:
Route 1: City to Palmerston at 3.35pm from bus hub.
Route 8: 7:45, 8:00 and 8:15 from Normanby; return 15:20 to St Clair, 15:05 to Normanby (runs as duplicate, starting at 15:05 from King's High School / Queen's High School)
Route 77: 8:00 trip from Mosgiel, return from City 15:42 and 16:12
Route 44: 7:48 Halfway Bush to hub
Route 55: 08:03 Brockville to hub

The schools listed above (or in relation to routes with additional dedicated routes) have confirmed they are registering bus students for contact tracing. With these control measures in place, the bus becomes a controlled environment and does NOT require physical distancing.

Buses have been asked to provide hand sanitiser. They are being cleaned in accordance with COVID-19 MoH Guidance.

Students should look out for a sign in the window with a list of schools. Only students from these schools are permitted to board. They should enter/exit at rear. No need to show ID.
