Have you ever thought of becoming a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) at the Southern District Health Board - Dunedin Hospital?

We are looking for caring and compassionate people who display maturity and are willing to learn new skills in assisting nurses to care for patients in the acute setting (Dunedin Hospital). 

You would be working under the supervision, with direction and delegation by a Registered Nurse. Your duties will include assisting patients with personal care which may include assisting them with meals, personal hygiene, keeping patients safe, stock replenishment of clinical items and some general housekeeping duties on the ward and working as part of a healthcare team.

We will provide you with a thorough orientation and on-the-job education (which may include working towards NZQA Levels 3 and 4). 

This role will give you insight into further careers in health care for the future. Pay rates are available on request in line with the nursing MECA Employment Agreement and you will be paid extra for after hours, shifts and weekends.
