Class Act 2021

Teresa Robertson —

The ODT Class Act seeks to identify young people that show great potential.. they are our leaders of tomorrow. Ben Paku and Patrick Ward were identified as outstanding recipients in 2021.

The Otago Daily Times Class Act 2021 identifies some of the top talent and excellence of young people to represent Otago’s Secondary School elite group.

Schools nominate students based on their achievements and can include academic, sporting, social, artistic, cultural or leadership potential. Students receive an automatic entitlement to a University of Otago Scholarship for 2022.

Both boys stand out as humble achievers and when you read their citations I'm sure you will agree.  To include some of their words...

Ben Paku says, "it’s not the size of the man, it’s the size of his heart that matters most. If people have passion and willingness, they will succeed at whatever they put their mind to".

As reported by the ODT ...One of Ben's salient qualities is his capacity to relate well to very different people, and he is always prepared to learn from his experiences with them to improve himself.

Patrick Ward says, "if everyone is moving forward together, then success will take care of itself".

The ODT stated...He has a modest personality and quiet determination that give him an easy rapport with people. Others follow his leadership because they see that he believes in what he’s doing and that it is worthy.

Congratulations to Ben and Patrick, your achievements are inspiring and we look forward to your future endeavours.
