Year 10 Camp Week

Jo Harford —

This week, the Year 10 cohort have been out-and-about in the South Island making memories.

This week, Year 10 students have been taking part in camp week. Activities range from tramping the Kelper Track, to cycling the Rail Trail, to experiencing life as a hunter gather (and cake decorator) at Food Camp.

Science Camp has based itself around Christchurch for the first few days before returning to Dunedin via Macraes mine on Thursday. On Friday, the group are heading out on the Monarch and visiting Orokanui Santuary. At Orana Park, the boys learned about Zoo Management - conservation, education, research and recreation (and the diet of lions ) and at the  Antarctic Centre, they  experienced a 4 D boat trip to Antarctica, -18 degrees ice storm with a wind chill of -42 degrees and a ride in the Hagglund vehicle.

Thanks to all of the teachers, parents and support staff who have been involved in creating these amazing experiences for our students.
