It is hard to believe that the months have progressed so quickly and that we are approaching the end of another year. 

As I take a moment to reflect on the last month I am encouraged by the positive and engaged manner that our senior students bought to this period of time. I was inspired by the level of effort and commitment to giving of their best in the mock examinations late last term. 

I was heartened by the large number of students I met during an impromptu fire drill who were willing to give up their own time in the holidays to come in for tutorials and workshops in the pursuit of their personal academic excellence.

I am reminded of the quote by Pat Riley, former Coach of the championship winning LA Lakers and now President of my favourite Basketball team the Miami Heat.  He said:

“If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.” 

This is core to our values of striving for personal excellence in every endeavour, so I look forward to celebrating with the senior students their successes and personal triumphs in the future.
