During June students collected cans to be donated towards the “Kai for Octacan” Can Drive organised by Presbyterian Support Otago.

In 2023 we collected a total of 1,402 cans as a school, so we set ourselves a goal of 2,000 cans for 2024. Not only did we meet this target, but we surpassed it by a significant margin. As a school we brought in a grand total of 5,412 cans. House Groups all across the school stepped up and contributed what they could, including many students who went around their local communities collecting donations.

Two students in particular went above and beyond the call of duty, contributing incredible numbers of cans. They were: Lou Simmers in Year 10 (1,686 cans), and Declan Viljoen in Year 13 (1,740 cans).
