A celebration of service

Jo Harford —

Last Friday, staff and students past and present gathered to acknowledge the many years of service Bryan Frost has given to King's.

Although he doesn't officially retire until the end of this year, the beginning of Term 2 seemed like a fitting time to have the first of Bryan's farewells as he has reduced his workload down to eight hours a week.

Bryan stood down from his role as Assistant Principal at the end of 2016 after being in that position for 27 years. He has been at King's for 43 years and much of his speech focussed on the changes that have occurred at the school over that time.

As mentioned above, many staff and students who have known Bryan during his years at King's were there to celebrate. Chris Fennessey, a successful singer who has performed over 2000 times on the West End, spoke, and Grant Robertson, (Labour's Finance spokesperson) shared his memories of being a student in Bryan' class, via video link.

Jo Waide (nee Weggery) sung "Send in the Clowns" for him and Nathan Tane performed a song he had written.

We'd like to acknowledge the work of Leonie Adam and Cursey Adie-Cropley whose efforts and organisation helped to make the evening such a success.
