Fundraising Quiz Night Success

Jeremy White —

Last week saw the inaugural Cross Country Mid-Winter Quiz night contested.

We were able to achieve our goals: to put on a community event to help break up the Winter months, to raise some funds for charity and to raise some funds for our 2024 season. Just under 30 teams competed for the prized title at Pirates Rugby Club where there was a real community feel. There was clearly a competitive nature to the evening given the inter-team banter and arguing that was observed.

The winner on the night was 'The Pyramid of Responsibility' – the King's High School Social Science Department – who we congratulate. They also took home the brand new "Cross Country Trophy" that is up for grabs for the Best Staff Team at all future quiz nights. Thank you to the Technology Department's Richard Dougherty for designing and constructing this work of art!

We are now thrilled to be able to make contributions to Prostate Cancer NZ's Blue September Campaign, Gumboot Friday and Achilles NZ. We are also thrilled to lock the event in on the calendar – see you in Term 3, 2024!
