2023 Etco Pre-trade Course

Etco currently trains over 4000 electrical apprentices and employs 1000 of them across NZ, directly placing them into our network of host companies. You are welcome to come into our training centre at any time to take a look around and meet our tutors.

Electrical apprenticeships are in high demand right now and our pre-trade programme is designed to give you a comprehensive skillset prior to you starting an apprenticeship. If you complete our Pre-trade course it also means you do not need to attend Year 1 and 2 night classes once you start your apprenticeship. You also get full time assistance from your tutor to ensure you are on top of all theory and practical elements of the electrical trade.

If you are keen on becoming an Electrician but are not confident or do not have the pre-requisites required (8 Level 2 credits in both Physics (or Electronics) and Maths), then this course is a great place to start.

Course Details:

What: You will receive your Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Engineering (120 credits)

When: starts July 12th, 2023. Finishes July 2024

Runs: Monday - Wednesday 8am – 4:30pm

Where: Etco Training Centre – 8 Jutland St, Central Dunedin

How: a blend of practical and theory delivery

Cost: Free if you have access to free fees or fully covered by Studylink ($3,750) if you don’t.
