Study for FREE with the Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund

careers —

The Government has announced a new Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) that supports anyone* to study/train for high-demand industries as New Zealand recovers from Covid-19.

*Domestic students only

All courses are run through Otago Polytech, and more information on the courses and programme can be found on their website https://www.op.ac.nz/students/ttaf-study-for-free  Applications are now open for most courses, and courses will fill up fast. If you are considering one of these courses for 2022 study, then apply sooner rather than later.

Plus, if you enrol in, and complete, a TTAF Programme for free, this doesn’t impact on your ability to then also use the Fees Free Scheme for further study (as long as you meet the eligibility criteria).

What else do I need to know?

Additional costs such as calculators, textbooks or protective footwear are not covered by the TTAF Programme (and neither are your living costs) so you may want to apply for a Student Loan or Allowance to cover these costs. More information about additional costs can be found on each of our programme information sheets by clicking the programme names below.

If you have any questions about the programme, or wish to discuss your options further, please see Mrs Campbell in the Careers Office, or email careers@kingshigh.school.nz to make an appointment.
