Talent Quest entertained and impressed

Kaine Harington —

1st Prize went to Zed Ramsay for his variety show that combined flexing his talents on drums, bass, vocals and guitar with a routine that was humorous and interacted with the crowd. 2nd Prize to Caleb Simpson for his magic trick that saw the entire crowd lose their minds.

The first Annual King's High School Talent Quest got off to a roaring start last week with eight acts performing across two lunchtimes in the Performing Arts Centre. Student's showcased ability in a range of different talents and the audience was thoroughly entertained for the duration - seeing new sides of their fellow King's men and being blown away by the high standard of performance.

The judges were impressed by the overall quality of performances - there were no "trainwrecks" and choose their winners based solely on entertainment factor.

Perhaps the best feature of the event was the relaxed and convivial atmosphere that existed between the audience and performers. Never has a lunchtime been more wholesome and entertaining!

The Arts Council looks forward to holding this event annually and hopes next year brings more students, competing across more days and an even wider variety of talents.
