Farewell to Jo Harford

Nick McIvor —

Today's the last day at King’s for Ms Harford. She is leaving to take up a new position teaching English at Foundation Studies at Otago University.

Jo has been a huge part of King’s for 18 years. It goes without saying that she’s become a much loved and respected part of the teaching team and a good sort, who’s been very good for our students and colleagues.

Jo’s given her classes high-quality education with fantastic learning experiences. Hundreds of young men in Media Studies, Drama and English have taken much from her positive influence and personal regard. She’s also been a dynamic and dedicated Head of Performing Arts and Media Studies, and an excellent guide for staff support and development, as the King’s Specialist Classroom Teacher.

Jo has become an accomplished King’s marketer in recent times too, working on strategies, materials and communications to promote King’s. She has been responsible for the School Magazine and the King’s Week (reluctant to have this item included this week such is her aversion to accepting personal praise!). Jo has also built Drama outside the classroom proudly - especially the boys’ magnificent Theatre Sport and Production performances both regionally and nationally.

We wish Jo all the very best.
