Safer Journeys Expo 2017

Jo Harford —

This week, our Year 11 students attended the Safer Journeys Expo on Wednesday afternoon.

As well as having all Year 11s attend, we also provided six Drama students who played the roles of driver and passenger in the role plays. They performed to a total of 1700 Yr 11-12 students over the three days of the expo.

This is a powerful experience for both the actors and for the students watching.  "Safer Journeys is the government's strategy to guide improvements in road safety over the period 2010 to 2020. The strategy's vision is a safe road system increasingly free of death and serious injury and introduces the Safe System approach to New Zealand."
