Student and Staff Mid-Winter Swim

Jeremy White —

Tuesday 22 June marked the shortest day of the year and it also marked the first – we hope – of the inaugural Year 13 Mid-Winter Swim.

Students and staff headed down to Moana Rua (Middle Beach) with togs and towels.

After a safety briefing, Head Prefect Orlando Tuhega-Vaitupu led the charge into the frigid waters.

I would like to make a special acknowledgement to our trained surf patrol – Year 13 students Ethan McGregor and Isaac Robertson and Year 11 student Aidan Blair  – who did a great service in keeping us all safe.

We are already looking to the second edition in 2023!

Great coverage by the ODT – click on the link to see the video.
