Wall of Fame
The Wall of Fame is a special event on our calendar and while we had postponements we were still able to make it happen.
Celebrating our distinguished inductees in 2021 reminds us of the humble beginnings of many of our boys, and inspires the young men currently studying at King's to embrace all that life has to offer.
King’s inducted the following Old Boys' to the Wall of Fame in 2021
- Joe Anderson (1945 – 1949) Retired District Court Judge
- Craig Scott (1963 – 1966) New Zealand Singer and Television Personality
- Graham Sinclair (1949 – 1953) Businessman, well known for his community involvement
- Ben Smith (2000 – 2004) Former NZ All Black
All our inductees exemplify the notion of making the most of life, as seen in each of their citations.
They shared memories about their time at King’s, including a few special words of wisdom, such as:
"Respect for yourself and for others"
"Demonstrate integrity in all you do"
"Back yourself, give it 100%".
It was an honour to celebrate our Old Boys' and to listen to their memories at this special annual assembly.

Queen's Birthday Honours List
ONZM - David Ross Black
To be Officers of the said Order: For services to health
- Ross Black founded the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust and was Chairman from 1998 to 2019. He spearheaded the $3.5 million dollar fundraising drive to establish a dedicated rescue helicopter in the Otago area.
QSM - Paul Tyson
The Queens Service Medal: For services to sport and the community
- Paul Tyson, a standout achievement in his life was being made a life member of Otago Children’s Athletics, New Zealand Children’s Athletics, and Athletics Otago. Mr Tyson has a lifetime of involvement with sport in a voluntary capacity, particularly athletics, from grassroots to national governance level.
KNZM - Grahame Charles Sydney
To be “Knights Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit”, for services to art
- Grahame Sydney's art career spans five decades across mediums including oil painting, watercolour, egg tempera, lithographs, etching, and photography. Grahame is best known for his landscapes of Central Otago, New Zealand.
