Josiah Trounson in Year 10 won 1st place in the all-ages video section of the Otago Wildlife Photography Competition last weekend.

After noticing a pair of breeding blackbirds near his family's carport, Josiah decided to mount a webcam above their nest and see what transpired. The webcam captured three seconds of footage every minute and, consequently, he ended up with 20,000 three second clips that he had to edit down to only 30 seconds.....I think we can safely say that Josiah has incredible patience and tenacity!
