We warmly welcomed the Leibniz Privatschule from Germany at King’s last week. Students and teachers spent time with us and at Queen's and had a great time engaging in classes, taking part in outdoor education activities and experiencing life in Dunedin.
The teachers and students of King’s supported their participation in a range of learning opportunities. A highlight of their week was being put through quite challenging rugby drills, participating in cricket, making items in technology, enjoying food and nutrition and participating in a cultural learning opportunity supported and guided by the Maori student leader, Che Arekatera Te Ra and Te Reo Maori Teacher, Matu Pene. They shared the principles that underpin the meaning of a haka and showed them how to perform this with enthusiasm. An experience the Leibniz students embraced as well as our current International students at King’s.
While the Leibniz students are in New Zealand for one month we are the only school they visit on their journey. We are incredibly proud of our long standing relationship with the teachers and students at the Leibniz Private School, Germany and look forward to ongoing visits. A special thanks goes out to the teachers and students of King’s for supporting and guiding our guests this week.
