Tomuri Spicer's song "The Seed Is Strong" (He Kakano No Kaha) is now available for free download and streaming as part of the 2019 Lion Foundation Songwriting Competition compilation.

Tomuri's song was named as a finalist in the Lion Foundation Songwriting Competition and as part of his prize he recorded his song at Orange Studios in Christchurch. The song is about how New Zealand is in danger of losing two of its most precious unique features, its natural habitat and te reo maori. 

The judges from Play It Strange loved the track and named Tomuri as a finalist. In a personal message to Tomuri, founder of Play It Strange and former Split Enz member Mike Chunn raved about the song and what a good job Tomuri had done of using music to communicate an important message.
