Nothing is too much of a challenge for Ethan and Kohl!

Jo Dryden —

Unafraid to challenge themselves even further than what an ordinary day poses, visually impaired/unsighted students, Ethan Rangituatea (Year 11) and Kohl Goodfellow (Year 9) were excited to take up the opportunity of learning a brass instrument through the Itinerant Teachers of Music (ITM) scheme at King’s.

Brass teacher, Paul Claman, says that Kohl and Ethan are the first unsighted/partially sighted students he has ever taught and sees the lessons as a wonderful professional development opportunity. Both Kohl and Ethan are exceptionally talented musicians who already play a variety of other instruments ‘by ear’.

Kohl recently was awarded the prestigious Junior Music Scholarship to recognise his talent for and commitment to his musical education.
