A successful week of activities

Jo Barnsdale —

The usual Core subjects were offered this week but with a more hands on focus.

In Science, students built rockets and then tested them in the Quad. See the YouTube of rocket launch below supplied by Kaleb Morris. 

The Mathematics Department activity required removing the roof tiles in A3 to accommodate the freestanding tower competition.

Year 10 Digital Technology Camp researched, designed and produced a product to sell. Their creations are displayed below: enquiries are to be made to the Technology Department.

Students learnt about buying and selling property in the Commerce Department dealing with rentals, taxes, rewards and fines in Monopoly. There were rewards for finding mysterious properties for sale around the school.

In T7 students used micro:bit to get hands-on with coding and digital making.
