Kei hea mai, kei hea atu

What an awesome week with the Year 10 Taiaha Camp. While learning the skills of self defense and traditional Māori martial arts, we ate heaps, laughed heaps and fought in teams until it was dark. We played the taiaha survival game, Ariki at St Kilda and at Arai te Uru marae. 

On Thursday night we joined the local Whare Tu Taua Taiaha group for a training session. Some of the King's students enjoyed the challenge so much, they are going to attend Thursday night trainings next year. 

By the end of the week, there were many sore bodies and also some skillful taiaha students.
