Marek Brewster – Woolf Fisher Fellow

Dan Reddiex —

On Friday 2nd November the King’s High School staff were greeted at briefing by a special guest. Dr. Nigel Evans, from the Woolf Fisher Trust, arrived at King’s to disclose to the staff that Mr. Marek Brewster was to be awarded a Woolf Fisher fellowship.

There are few greater honours that can be conferred upon a teacher in New Zealand than to be made a Fellow of such a relatively small and high performing group.

Woolf Fisher Fellows are selected by members of an independent trust board who apply a variety of criteria before making their determinations. There are no nominations. Mr. Brewster will receive a generous financial sum that he can utilize during a three week sabbatical to explore an educational theme of interest and also enjoy some leisure time.

Mr. Brewster becomes the sixth King’s staff member to be awarded a Woolf Fisher. We extend our congratulations to Mr. Brewster for this richly deserved recognition of his outstanding teaching.
