Touch Results & Important Dates

The third Year 8 Invitational Touch Tournament was held on Friday November 3, hosted at King's High School (KHS) and was organised and administered by the King's 1st Touch Team. The stunning weather, and near perfect conditions provided onlookers with an afternoon of skilful athleticism and entertainment.

The visiting Year 8 schools were John McGlashan College, East Otago High School, Balmacewen Intermediate and Tahuna Normal Intermediate. Students were treated to fine King's High School hospitality of drinks, sausages, sweets and spot prizes provided throughout the day, courtesy of Mr Smith and the Lion’s Sport Department. There was even an opportunity for the Year 8's to take on the King’s 1st players at the 7m as part of lunch break entertainment.

As in every tournament, there can only be one winner with Balmacewen Intermediate taking out the tournament, in a ‘drop off’ decider over a good Tahuna Normal Intermediate.

Metro Secondary Schools Touch (Tuesday 7 November)

• Mohoao Kingi; Game 1: lost to Whatitiri, 8-3

Game 2: lost to JMC 9A , 5-2

• Hukarere Kingi: Game 1: defeated OBHS Gold, 8-3

Game 2: lost to JMCG 10A, 5-1

• Whatitiri Kingi: Game 1: defeated Mohoao Kingi, 8-3

Game 2: lost to Repara Kingi

• Tiaki Ha Kingi: Game 1: drew to Repara Kingi

Game 2: lost to OBHS Blues

• Repara Kingi Game 1: drew to Tiaki-Ha Kingi
