International visitors welcomed to King's and Queen's.

Julie Collings —

This week at King’s we welcomed a group of German students from Leibniz Privatschule. This exchange has been a regular event for our schools for the past eight years.

The group consists of 20 boys and 10 girls (with the girls hosted by Queen’s High School). During their week-long stay, the students have been buddied up with King’s boys and shadowed them in their classes. In the afternoons the whole group have been involved in an extra curricular programme between the two schools, which included Cricket and Rugby coaching, Drama classes and Cooking classes. Accompanying the group is Hank Boesten, who has returned to King’s after himself studying as an international student here at King’s from 2005-2006. He is now the head of the Junior school at Leibniz. The group heads away at the weekend to do a tour of NZ and then head to Australia.

Thank you all the King’s lads that hosted the boys in their classes and for making them feel a part of our school for the week. The group report that they have felt very welcomed here and wish to pass on their thanks to all that have made their time at King’s enjoyable.
