Both the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic are looking forward to welcoming you onto their campuses! This event is open to any students who would like to come along. It is a great opportunity to see the opportunities that exist at both the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic, and to help with your future planning. We strongly encourage all Year 13 students to attend, and also Year 12 students who are considering study in the future.

Please note that the ‘full expo of academic and student support’ will be run on Sunday as well as Monday. We hope this gives you more flexibility to plan your day(s). 

Open Days Programmes:

These are attached. You can also head to www.otago.ac.nz/open-days (Otago University) or https://www.op.ac.nz/about/events/tertiary-open-day-2024/ (Otago Polytechnic) to view the programmes online and for further information and FAQs. 

In the interests of sustainability, we encourage students to view these online and print the sections they need. There will also be printed programmes on campus when students arrive for the Tertiary Open Days.

Sunday 26 May

Sunday has general overviews of the health sciences, sciences, humanities and business divisions, and some hands-on activities, but has a limited range of academic presentations. The day runs from 9:30am till 4pm.

The Expo of academic and student support is open 10am-2pm.

Colleges are open for tours from 9am till 5pm. Most Colleges are within a short walk of campus. There is a free hop-on hop-off shuttle doing a loop around the further out Colleges that will run 9am–4pm.

Campus tours are also running.

Monday 27 May

The full programme of presentations happens on Monday. Presentations and activities run from 9am till 3pm, although a few presentations may run till 4pm.

The Expo of academic and student support is open 9am-3pm.

Campus tours run on the hour.

Our Open Days App will be ready before Open Day. Users will need to register to personalise the app; you can sign up for updates on our Open Days webpage here to be notified when it’s available.
