Beach Volleyball Tournament

Garry Turner —

King's had four teams in the U15 grade, all making the top four

The Otago Beach Volleyball Tournament was held over Labour weekend at Brighton Beach.

Six King’s teams entered the competition and the day dawned bright, warm and sunny; much to our visitors from North of the Waitaki’s surprise.

Michael Sululuto and Spencer Campbell entered the Open Men’s competition and just missed out on a top four spot at the end of pool play.

Lachie Cameron and Orlando Tuhega-Vaitupu entered the U19 grade and lost all three of their pool games but returned stronger and better, knocking off the top seeds in the semis and taking out the final to be crowned U19 champions.

We had four teams in the U15 grade, all making the top four. Justin Talalima-Wineti and Charlie Jackson finished 4th, Taufa Makanesi and Kobe Ria finished 3rd, Jeremiah Tuhega-Vaitupu and Finn Apii finished 2nd and Tom Severne and Tevita Tu’i finished top of the table and were crowned U15 champions.

Great work from the boys. They represented King’s with pride and showed the growing successes of our Volleyball program.
