Of QUARTS we love Geology!

Daniel Bleckinger —

Year 13 Earth and Space Science students got a unique tour of the University of Otago campus this week. They learned about local rocks commonly used in the construction of some of Dunedin's most iconic buildings.

During the visit, they also learned about some techniques used to stabilize the banks of the Leith, talked with Geology Department staff and students about some of the research they are doing, and got to enter the research chamber in the southern hemisphere that is completely shielded from Earth's magnetic field.
