Dance company 'Jolt' and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra performance beautiful

A group of 60 junior King’s boys and five staff members, along with students from Queen’s and various other groups around Dunedin, were treated to a special presentation of The Seasons in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) last Friday.

The Seasons is the re-imagining of Vivaldi's well-loved Four Seasons by Max Richter, a German-born British composer. This performance featured acclaimed New Zealand Violinist, Martin Riseley and musicians from the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. They presented a high-quality performance of The Seasons, which also included energetic and evocative dance and movement from inclusive dance company ‘Jolt’ – a company whose dancers live with intellectual disabilities.

The 55-minute performance was incredible, full of emotion – beautiful! Both staff and students thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Some of the boys were impressed with how creatively the dancers expressed themselves and the seasons, through their movements.

A public concert of The Seasons was held that evening in the PAC.
