Term 3 Week 8 – 2/1/2 Timetable

Examinations are held from Monday to Friday, 9–13 September.  All senior students will have study leave for this time, but we will have study space available for those who require it in the Library.  Students are expected to attend these in their school uniform, just as they would for the NZQA examinations at the end of the year.

Examination slots have been set up in three-hour time blocks and will run from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm, primarily in C-Block.  Students are expected to remain for a minimum of two hours but may leave after that, and some examinations plan to only use two hours.  Students are required to stay at least two hours to give the exam a reasonable attempt so we can determine a Derived Grade which is needed in case they are unable to sit the NCEA examination at the end of the year.

Subjects with purely internal components also have an examination slot. Here teachers will use the time to complete an assessment, a practical investigation or activity that would require more time than a normal hour period.

Students entitled to special assessment conditions will have been contacted by Mr Ross to coordinate how this will work during the examinations.

Scholarship examinations will also be held to give them the opportunity to experience Scholarship-like conditions alongside the Level 3 examinations.  Scholarship candidates will need to coordinate with Mr McPhail (Academic Dean) to schedule what “free” slot in their timetable will be used to complete the separate Scholarship paper(s) in.

A reminder, during our examination week – we will be operating a 2 / 1 / 2 Timetable

• 8.35am till 8.57am – Juniors to the PAC

• 9am till 10am – Period 1

• 10am till 11am – Period 2

11am till 11.23am: Interval

• 11.25am till 12.25pm – Period 3

12.25pm till 12.55pm: Lunch

• 1pm till 2pm – Period 4

• 2pm till 3pm – Period 5
