On Monday the 11th September about 20 of our boys were involved in the Secondary Schools' Music Festival. 

The boys have been attending practices over the last few weeks but most of the hard work happened on Monday when all the schools came together to rehearse in the Town Hall.

The programme started with our own He Waka Kotuia. It was a truly magnificent opening to what proved to be a fantastic concert which showcased the amazing talent of many talented teenagers in our city. One of those was our own Nathaniel Otley who completed his Year 13 at King’s last year. He played a violin concerto, accompanied by piano, a very difficult piece which he performed beautifully. The massed Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, and Symphonic Windband all performed their own items and were well received by the audience.

It is a wonderful experience to play or sing in a large group of likeminded musicians and the boys all really enjoyed the day.
