Glucose Spikes and How to Avoid Them

A glucose spike is the burst of energy we can feel after eating, followed by a rapid decrease in energy. This can leave us feeling more lethargic than before we ate. Our body tries to counteract an increase in glucose by flooding our body with insulin, which causes fatigue. Long-term, frequent glucose spikes can lead to more serious health conditions, such as Type 2 Diabetes. Recent research shows the order that we eat our food can significantly decrease glucose spikes, meaning we can minimise glucose spikes without a dramatic change in diet.

Eating food in this order can reduce a glucose spike by up to 75% - a fairly easy way to gain energy and improve health!
