On Tuesday, a contingent of twenty runners headed to Logan Park for the first Cross Country event of the season. This event is the only one of the season that is a fully individual race.

In the Junior (Under 15) 2.5km race we had William Scharpf coming in 2nd and our South Island sprint champion, Flynn Murdoch, came in 11th. We will see big improvements in his time as this was only his 2nd competitive long distance race. Sammy Johnson, a Year 9 runner, came in 13th and ran very impressively. We are hoping for some good results when he races in the Under 14 grade rather than the Under 15. 

In the Senior race (Under 19), Drew Cairney in his first year of Senior races as a 15 year old, came in 2nd with Zac Mason chasing hard to come in 3rd. There was also a good run from Finn Ward who worked hard to come 7th.
