NZQA Scholarship Success

Cameron McPhail —

King’s is thrilled to announce another set of fantastic 2021 NZQA Scholarship results for the school and our students.

In the Scholarship Exams, King’s attained 34 Scholarship passes, coming from 21 individual students. This is more students than last year and is a success that puts them all in the top 3% in New Zealand, and the school itself, in the top tier of South Island Secondary Schools and New Zealand Boys’ Schools.

These results speak volumes about our Academic programme and teaching here at King’s, and in particular our dedicated Scholarship classes, which were responsible for 28 of the school’s 34 Scholarship passes.

Special mention must go to the following students who achieved multiple Scholarships, and/or achieved them as Year 12s:

  • Narayan Shastri - 4 - Biology, Physics, Statistics, Calculus
  • Hugh Askerud - 3 - English, Art History, History
  • Harrison Jones - 3 - Chemistry, Physics, Calculus
